Building Teacher Capacity for Mental Health Support
Teachers are often the first to notice when a student is struggling, yet many feel unprepared to respond. Mental health is rarely included in teacher training, leaving emotional wellbeing overlooked in most schools.

At Twogere, we equip educators with the knowledge and skills to support student mental health through targeted, interactive training. Our workshops help teachers recognize signs of distress, respond empathetically, and foster safe, inclusive classrooms. We also promote teacher wellbeing through self-care and peer support.

By integrating lived experience into our sessions, we build empathy and shift perceptions. Trained teachers report increased confidence, improved student relationships, and have gone on to establish mental health clubs and peer support systems.

Empowered teachers are key to transforming school culture and creating environments where mental wellbeing is valued and protected.
“After the training, I understood that some students weren’t being difficult—they were in distress. It changed how I teach and how I connect with them.”
