What is the Elders’ Council?
The Elders’ Council is a respected advisory group made up of individuals with deep lived experience, professional insight, and cultural wisdom related to mental health and community well-being.

Their role is to guide, advise, and nurture the next generation of mental health leaders while keeping us grounded in values of compassion, dignity, and cultural relevance.
The Role of the Council
Advisory Support – Offering guidance on Twogere’s strategic direction, programming, and ethical decision-making
Mentorship – Sharing wisdom with youth champions, staff, and volunteers through one-on-one or group engagement
Cultural Ambassadorship – Helping us weave traditional knowledge, language, and healing practices into our mental health work
Advocacy Allyship – Using their networks and influence to open doors for wider collaboration and impact
Who Can Join?
We welcome expressions of interest from:

Respected community leaders, elders, or cultural custodians
Retired or senior professionals in mental health, education, or social work
Individuals with lived experience who have walked the mental health journey and wish to uplift others
Parents, caregivers, and advocates who value intergenerational mental wellness​

Joining Elder's Council
Membership to the Council is by invitation. However, if you are interested in serving, you may submit a brief expression of interest outlining your background, relevant experience, and motivation for joining. Please send your submission to board@twogereug.org.
Our board will review your submission and follow up to explore potential alignment within 1-2 months.
