Theory of Change
At Twogere, we recognize that traditional clinic-based mental health models cannot scale to meet the urgent needs of Uganda’s youth due to high costs and a severe shortage of specialists. Our theory of change centers on a strategic shift to school-based care, utilizing schools as the most universal infrastructure for early intervention. By embedding a tiered system of early identification, immediate response, and safe escalation directly within the education ecosystem, we distribute the responsibility of care beyond clinical walls. This model reduces reliance on late-stage intervention and improves educational performance, ultimately building a resilient, population-scale delivery infrastructure that ensures every young person has the support they need to thrive.
