Reporting Scams

Protecting you from fraud and impersonation.

We are aware that fraudulent communications may sometimes claim to be from, or associated with, Twogere. These may appear through email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, phone calls or SMS and may use our name, logo, photographs or information from our website.

If you receive a communication claiming to represent Twogere and you are unsure whether it is genuine — especially if it asks for money, personal information or banking details — please use our contact page to report. Please include as much information as possible, such as the sender's name, phone number, email address, screenshots and any payment request.

Please note: We review all scam reports, but we may not be able to respond individually to every report.

What Twogere will never do

Twogere will never:

  • Ask young people, teachers or schools to pay to access our programmes, training, certificates or resources. Our charitable programmes are provided free of charge to participating schools and communities.

  • Ask for your mobile money PIN, password, banking password or other security credentials.

  • Ask you to send money to a personal mobile money account or bank account on behalf of Twogere without formal verification.

  • Run lotteries, cash giveaways or promotions that require you to send money or provide financial credentials.

  • Ask someone to make a payment based solely on an informal message, phone call or social-media account.

When in doubt, verify first.

If someone claims to represent Twogere, do not send money or share sensitive information until you have verified the request through our official contact channels.

How to report a scam

If you believe someone has attempted to defraud you or impersonate Twogere:

  1. Stop communication: Do not send money, PINs, passwords, identification documents or other sensitive information.

  2. Keep the evidence: Save messages, screenshots, phone numbers, email addresses, payment details and links associated with the communication.

  3. Report it to Twogere: Use our contact page with the available evidence.

  4. Report financial or cybercrime: If you have lost money or believe your financial or personal information has been compromised, report the incident to the relevant authorities and your bank or mobile-money provider as soon as possible.

Stay alert

Scammers may copy legitimate organisations' names, logos, photographs and public information to make fraudulent communications appear genuine.

If a message asks for money or sensitive information, verify it before acting.
