Grace’s Story

Rebuilding Her Life with Livelihood Support

Grace, a single mother of three, had spent years struggling to make ends meet. After her husband left her for another woman, she found herself taking on the full responsibility of raising her children. She tried to run a small farm, but with limited resources and constant stress, her mental health began to deteriorate. The weight of her responsibilities caused her to spiral into depression, and she felt as though she had no way out.

That’s when Twogere’s livelihood support program stepped in. Grace received a small grant to start a fruit sales point, as well as training on how to manage her new business. The support provided her with not only financial stability but also a sense of purpose and hope for the future.

"I had lost hope. But when Twogere offered me the opportunity to start my fruit business, I felt like someone cared. It gave me something to focus on and work towards,” Grace said. “With the training, I learned how to run the business effectively. It wasn’t easy, but it was the lifeline I needed.”

Through hard work and determination, Grace’s business began to thrive. She is now able to provide for her children, pay their school fees, and even save a little each month. Most importantly, she feels in control of her life again, and her mental health has improved significantly.

"Starting this business has not only changed my financial situation but it’s also helped me feel stronger and more confident,” Grace said. “I no longer feel overwhelmed by life. I know I can handle whatever comes my way.”
