Social Hour

The Twogere Social Hour is a dedicated, safe space created specifically for our staff and volunteers, acknowledging the emotional and mental toll that comes with working in the mental health sector. As providers of mental health support and advocates for well-being, we understand that the challenges our clients face can often be deeply moving and emotionally intense. It can sometimes be overwhelming to process the stories, struggles, and pain that we hear on a daily basis.

The Twogere Social Hour is our response to this need for emotional resilience and support. It offers our team a safe, non-judgmental environment where they can reflect, share, and process their emotions. Whether it's through regular debrief sessions, peer support, or access to professional counseling, we ensure that our staff and volunteers have the tools and resources they need to maintain their own mental health and well-being.

"This space allows me to pause, breathe, and recalibrate," says Betty, our projects coordinator. "We don’t just care for others; we care for each other. It's a vital part of what keeps me grounded in this work."

"This initiative helps me stay resilient," adds Prosy, a volunteer with our program. "It reminds me that taking care of ourselves is just as important as taking care of the people we serve."

We recognize that in order to provide the best care for our clients, we must first care for those who are providing that support. The Twogere Social Hour is a vital part of our commitment to sustaining a healthy, supportive, and balanced work environment where our staff and volunteers can thrive, ensuring they have the emotional strength and capacity to continue their important work in the mental health space.
